Description
Job Summary:
Psychiatric Unit Nurse in Hilo, Hawaii This position requires a behavioral health registered nurse to coordinate patient care in a 12-bed facility using a team model. The nurse will participate in patient and family teaching, administer medications and treatment, and work in rotating 8-hour shifts. Candidates are required to bring their Hawaii license on the first day. The assignment begins on August 10, 2026, and the candidate must be available to work weekends and holidays with no floating to other departments.
Job Details:
- Location: Hilo, Hawaii
- Shift: Rotating 8-hour shifts (12 hours total) with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Hawaii license, 2 years experience in behavioral health nursing, BLS, NCI or other crisis prevention training, proficient with EMR systems (Meditech), minimum 2 years of experience in behavioral health nursing, any traveler not currently in possession of an active State of Hawaii license must apply upon acceptance of offer, Hawaii license required by start of assignment, must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EMR, Meditech, crisis prevention training.
- Additional Information: Candidate must arrive the Thursday before start to attend employee health appointment on Friday. No floating to other departments. Position urgency is normal.
