Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) for a healthcare organization located in Washington, District of Columbia. The position involves providing patient care on an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit, with a focus on stroke assessment using the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). The job requires a commitment to delivering competent, compassionate, and efficient care while adhering to all regulatory and licensure requirements.

Job Details:

  • Location: Washington, District of Columbia
  • Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
    • BSN degree highly desired
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
    • Med/Surg Telemetry experience 2 years required
    • Cerner EHR experience 2 years required
    • BLS & ACLS certifications required
    • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
  • Additional Information:
    • Responsible for providing a variety of patient care functions for a diverse patient population
    • Performs initial and ongoing assessments, reviews systems, and documents appropriately
    • Completes admission assessments within the established time frame
    • Demonstrates the ability to interpret patient needs and deliver age-appropriate care across the lifespan
    • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory and safety standards
