Description

Job Summary:
The area is Albuquerque, New Mexico. This Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position involves providing specialized patient care on nights shifts. Candidates must be licensed healthcare professionals; they are required to bring their license on the first day. The role offers an option of 36 or 48 hours per week, with a daily census of approximately 38 patients. The unit primarily cares for adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and other cardiovascular-related conditions.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, with a schedule of 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 48 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid healthcare license; BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (preferred) certifications; Epic charting system experience; two years of healthcare experience preferred (will consider 1+ years).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Cardiovascular unit experience, certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and CPI.
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 48 hours/week.
  • Additional Information: The unit features 55 beds with interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The unit emphasizes cardiovascular care, including management of cardiac telemetry, central lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and other specialized procedures. Travelers may be expected to float within their scope of practice to related units as needed. Once the contract is signed, labs are expected within 48 business hours.
  • Certifications and Experience: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications desired; two years of prior experience preferred; familiarity with Epic EMR system required.
