Job Summary:
The city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, is seeking a qualified Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nurse for a nights shift at a healthcare facility. This position involves providing specialized post-acute care to adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on cardiovascular monitoring and complex patient management. Candidates are required to bring their licenses on the first day of orientation.

Job Details:

• Location: Albuquerque, NM
• Shift Hours: 12-hour nights shift with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are mandatory. Knowledge of the Epic electronic medical record system is required. Candidates should have 2 years of experience in a similar role, or at least 1+ years of experience, with exposure to cardiovascular patient care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NIH stroke scale assessments, community hospital settings, and prior charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Additional Information: The unit has 55 beds and manages patients with diagnoses such as CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI. Skills required include management of BiPAP/CPAP, blood products, cardiac telemetry, central line care, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and more. The nurse may be expected to float to like units as needed, and a brief orientation will be provided onsite. Once the contract is signed, labs must be completed within 48 business hours, with notification of any compliance delays at the time of submittal.
