Description
Job Summary:
The location is in San Francisco, California. This registered nurse position is within the endoscopy laboratory specializing in outpatient endoscopy procedures. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves supporting a busy outpatient endoscopy center with a daily census of 50-60 cases. The position may require floating to other UCSF endoscopy sites as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, BSN degree, current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, minimum of 2 years of experience with at least 1 year in an outpatient endoscopy center.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma I/II experience.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS.
- Skills: Administering conscious sedation, airway management, balloon dilators, circulating, colonoscopy, dilators, disposable grounding pads, electronic surgical units, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), ERCP, esophageal varices and banding, forceps, foreign body equipment, interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, monitoring conscious sedation, obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG, opioid analgesics, polyp snares, pre/post procedure care, Propofol, Provation, recovery from conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care, reversal agents, sclerotherapy procedures, scrub responsibilities, specimen handling/labeling, starting and maintaining intravenous lines.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience with more than 1 year in outpatient endoscopy.
- Additional Information: This role includes required interface with teaching hospital modules, with pre-start and annual module completion. The position involves floating to UCSF endoscopy sites as needed, with the potential for interdisciplinary support including respiratory, interpretation, pharmacy, and transportation services.
- Travel and RTO: RTO disclosures must be provided at the time of submittal; requests within the first two weeks are not permitted.
