Job Summary:
The opportunity is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Endoscopy Lab services in San Francisco, California. The position involves supporting outpatient endoscopy procedures, with an emphasis on administering conscious sedation, airway management, and complex endoscopic interventions. Candidates must bring their California RN license on the first day of the assignment.
Job Details:
- Location: San Francisco, California
- Shift Hours: 8 hours per day
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 40 hours
- Start Date: 07/21/2026
- Required Qualifications: Valid California RN license; BSN degree; American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience, including more than 1 year working in an outpatient endoscopy center; proficiency with EMR system Epic; experience with delivering conscious sedation, airway management, colonoscopy, ERCP, EBUS, and EUS procedures; knowledge of Polyp snares, Propofol, and recovery of conscious sedation; preferred charge experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma I/II experience.
- Additional Information: Float: Float rotation may be required to other UCSF Endoscopy sites. Teaching hospital experience is required.
- Travel Experience Required: No
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS required.
- Skills: Administering Conscious Sedation, Airway Management, Balloon Dilators, Circulate, Colonoscopy, Dilators, Disposable grounding pads, EGD, Electrosurgical units, Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), ERCP*, Esophageal varices and banding, Forceps, Foreign body equipment, Inpatient, Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias, Monitoring Conscious Sedation, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, Opioid Analgesics, Outpatient Endoscopy center, Polyp snares, Pre/Post Procedure, Propofol, Provation, Recover conscious sedation, Recover monitored anesthesia care sedation, Reversal agents, Sclerotherapy*, Scrub*, Specimen Handling/labeling, Starting and maintaining IVs, Versed.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years experience with more than 1 year of outpatient endoscopy center experience; previous charge nurse experience preferred.
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility including float requirements to other UCSF Endo sites.
- Requirements: Completed references (2 from most recent employer) to be submitted at the time of application; COVID-19 vaccination and booster required, with medical or religious exemptions permitted.
