Description
Job Summary:
This pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) registered nurse position is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role involves caring for pediatric patients aged from newborns to 18 years, including those with complex conditions such as respiratory issues, traumas, and post-surgical care. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 3 - 12 hour shifts per week, minimum of 36 hours.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Indiana or Compact RN license; 2+ years of experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Units and pediatric care; experience in a facility with 400+ beds and similar acuity (Level 2 trauma). BLS through American Heart Association (AHA) and PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) certifications required; EPIC experience is required; IV skills are a plus.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical record systems, specifically EPIC.
- Float: Float to areas such as NICU may be required.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes standard traveler onboarding followed by 24 hours on the floor with a preceptor. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4 for pediatrics and 1:2 for PICU. The dress code is Caribbean blue scrubs.
