Description

Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse to support the Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Surgical Trauma ICU in Round Rock, Texas. This role involves providing direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers opportunities to work in a dynamic environment with potential for floating to other acute care areas based on organizational needs.

  • Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse license from the Texas Board of Nursing; Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or equivalent professional licensure; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 6 months of hire; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 1 month of hire; 0 years of experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Critical Care Remote Telemetry (CRRT), Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), Trauma (TAR/Trauma Nursing Core Course - TNCC), Impella, and other advanced critical care procedures.
  • Certifications: ACLS and BLS.
  • Additional Information: Staffing ratios are 1:2 for ICU and 1:3 for Intermediate Care, with 1:1 ratios for specialized devices such as IABP, CRRT, and Impella. The unit uses Cerner Powerchart for electronic medical records. Staff may also float to other acute care units or emergency department as needed. Candidates should wear navy blue scrubs.
