Job Summary:
The organization is seeking an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Medical Nurse in Salem, Massachusetts. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This role involves providing specialized care to adult patients in a 20-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), with duties including managing patients with diagnoses such as substance abuse overdoses, severe psychiatric conditions, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding, respiratory failure, cardiac arrests, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. The position involves floating to various Medical/Surgical units and requires telemetry competency. The ICU is staffed 24 hours/day by attendings and residents.

Job Details:

• Certifications: Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Experience: 2+ years of Adult ICU experience required; at least 2 years of continuous work in one location, preferably in a Medical ICU
• EMR System: EPIC
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week; all night shifts do not rotate; day rotators may rotate between (7 a.m. - 7 p.m., 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., or 7 p.m. - 7 a.m.) shifts when needed
• Float: Float rotation may be required, primarily in Medical/Surgical Units, with patient loads up to 4 or 5 patients
• Patient Population: Adult patients with a variety of medical conditions
• Location: Salem, Massachusetts
• Years of Experience Required: 2+ years of Adult ICU experience and 2+ years of continuous work experience in one location
