Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Medical Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Salem, Massachusetts. This role involves providing specialized care in a Level III Trauma Center's Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The RN will support adult patients with complex diagnoses such as Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock. This position requires the ability to float between units and manage high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Night shift does not rotate. Day positions are day rotate, with shifts potentially rotating between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a when needed
• Required Qualifications: Active Massachusetts RN License; two or more years of continuous adult ICU experience; 2+ years of experience in one location, preferably in a Medical Intensive Care Unit; telemetry competency; BLS and ACLS certifications
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic medical records; ability to read telemetry strips effectively
• Float: Yes, floating to Medical/Surgical units, up to 4 or 5 patients depending on acuity
• RN to Patient Ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg areas
• Patient Population: Adult ICU patients with various complex diagnoses
• Additional Information: This role is based in a 20-bed Medical ICU within a 400+ bed community facility. The ICU cares for a wide range of adult patients with complex diagnoses, supported 24 hours per day by attendings and residents. The EMR system used is EPIC.
