Description
Job Summary:
The profession is registered nurse (RN) specializing in psychiatric care at a healthcare facility in Gloucester, Massachusetts. This position involves caring for senior adult patients on a geriatric and psychiatric unit. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of work. The role involves working in a facility that treats elderly patients with diagnoses such as dementia (with or without behavioral disturbances), depression, and anxiety, primarily in an inpatient setting.
Job Details:
- Specialty: Psychiatric Unit
- Location: Gloucester, Massachusetts
- Shift: Rotating days and evenings, with shifts from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm for day shifts and 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm for evening shifts; every other weekend for day shifts.
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 40.0 hours
- Required Qualifications: Geriatric experience required; valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); Massachusetts License; BSN degree preferred; no minimum years of experience specified.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Additional Information: The unit has 20 beds, patient ratios vary from 1:12 to 1:4 based on patient census; the team includes a nurse practitioner and certified nursing assistants. No ventilator support is provided on the unit, and special equipment includes Baxter IV. Staff may perform blood draws and EKGs as needed, with care team notifying medical consultants of any changes in patient conditions. Must be separated from BILH for more than 6 months and in good standing to be considered for employment. No floating to other facilities.
