Job Summary:
The location is Farmington, Connecticut. This position is for an Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) Surgical Technician at a healthcare facility. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves scrubbing a variety of surgical cases including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and general surgery. The position offers a 10-hour daytime shift with rotating weekends and holidays.

• Shift Hours: 10 hours daily, with start times at 7:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, or 1:00 PM based on need; rotating weekends and holidays
• Required Qualifications: Associates Degree from Surgical Tech Program; 2 years of formal in-hospital experience; Certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Schedule: 10-hour days, minimum of 40 hours per week, with shifts starting at 7:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, or 1:00 PM based on need; rotating weekends and holidays
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel experience is preferred but not required
• Float: Float rotation may be required; client may reassign personnel within 30 miles of the original facility assignment, within clinical competence
• Additional Information: Mandatory overtime may be required as part of the unit staffing; orientation of 16 hours held on Mondays; acceptance of Covid medical or religious exemptions; local candidates are accepted; 75-mile radius rule applies; time off requests should be minimized and require approval; holidays off may be limited to one of the three major holidays at the discretion of the healthcare provider
