Description

Job Summary:
The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Burlington, Vermont, is seeking qualified healthcare professionals for a 13-16 week assignment. The position involves working in a cardiac-focused unit with responsibility for post-operative care of cardiac patients. Candidates must be willing to float to similar units as needed and adhere to the assigned weekend schedule.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, including at least 1 year in a similar unit.
    • Large trauma level 1 experience within the past year.
    • Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience within the last 2 years.
    • Certifications: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
    • Experience in cardiothoracic, vascular, and post-operative cardiac care (including open/closed heart surgeries).
    • Additional qualifications include post-op 1-day cardiac experience and cardiology experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: PCCN certification.
  • Travel Requirements: No travel required.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Start Date: 07/27/2026.
  • Location: 111 Colchester Avenue, Burlington, Vermont 05401.
  • Submission Requirements: All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained; comprehensive work history details (bed count, EMR, facility type) are required to submit.
  • Additional Information: Public transportation is not accessible in this area; reliable personal or rental vehicle with all-season or snow tires is strongly recommended during November April.
