Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry at a non-profit community hospital in Yakima, Washington. This position involves providing care to adult patients with various medical conditions, including post-surgical, stroke, oncology, respiratory, and orthopedic cases. The role requires clinical expertise in MedSurg procedures and may include occasional telemonitoring and acting in a care assistant capacity.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12-hour shifts, either 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); must pass tele exam during compliance; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred; minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a MedSurg setting with telemetry, including skills such as chest tubes, trachs, PICC/midlines/central lines, Foley catheters, NG tubes, dressing changes, wound vacs, ostomies, and telemonitoring.
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric and psychiatric experience are preferred but not required; previous experience with adult and pediatric patient types is advantageous.
- Floating: Float rotation may be required across various units including 2 East and West Wing, 3 East and West Wing, 5th floor, and Emergency Room for MedSurg holds.
- Additional Information: The position may involve handling post-surgical, stroke, oncology, CHF, COPD, respiratory, GI, ortho (total joints), and COVID-19 patients. Occasionally, a total care assignment or acting as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) may be necessary.
