Description

Job Summary:
Long Term Care Nurse in Wheeling, West Virginia. This role involves providing care for a diverse resident population in a skilled nursing facility, including long-term residents and those admitted for strength recovery. The position requires dedication to clinical excellence and team collaboration in a post-acute setting.

Job Details:

  • Shift: 12-hour nights, scheduled from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, every other weekend required; scheduled according to facility needs.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a similar setting.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with long-term care residents, wound care, tracheostomy care, PEG tube feedings, Foley and catheter care, IV therapy, PICC lines, mediports, and telemonitoring.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit consists of approximately 30 residents per shift, with a mix of long-term and short-term patients.
    • Staff will pass medications, perform wound care, and manage various clinical duties.
    • RN responsibilities include IV management, PICC lines, mediports, and interpreting telemetry strips.
    • Interdisciplinary team includes PT, OT, SLP, case managers, social workers, dieticians, pharmacist, and other healthcare providers all on-site.
    • No COVID unit; enhanced droplet precautions are in place with N95 respirators required during COVID-related care.
    • No on-site pharmacy dispensing system; medications are received from the hospital nearby.
    • No self-scheduling; staff works consistent 12-hour night shifts with scheduled weekends.
