Job Summary:
Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) position on the pediatric floor in Decatur, Illinois. This assignment involves providing specialized nursing care to neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients within a level II trauma acute care hospital. The role is scheduled for nights, with a focus on complex pediatric patient management in a busy hospital environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights (1800-0630), 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Illinois nursing license (or active application with ETA), BLS and PALS certifications, minimum of 2 years' experience in Pediatric Medical-Surgical or Pediatric Step Down/Telemetry units, EMR experience with Cerner, valid drivers license, and experience with infants, children, and adult patients.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Endocrine/Metabolic conditions such as Hyperbilirubinemia and Insulin administration, competency in handling breastfeeding and gastric feedings, and experience with IV therapy, including peripheral line care, starting IVs, and wound assessment.
• Additional Information:
  • Will float within scope to meet facility needs, including to adult units when census is low.
  • Will work every other weekend and participate in holiday coverage, working at least 2 of the 3 major holidays.
  • Responsible for inset and management of indwelling urinary catheters, insertion and care of NG tubes, and pediatric dosage calculations.
  • Open to discussion for block schedule requests; candidates should discuss with the manager.
  • The assignment begins on 07/20/2026 at a facility with 16 beds and an outpatient catheterization area.
  • Must comply with all licensing, background, and compliance requirements prior to start, including lab appointments, document signing, and badge photos within one week of contract signing.
