Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Neuro Med Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a contract assignment in an Illinois medical center. This role involves providing specialized care to neuro and neuro-surgical patients, including those experiencing cerebrovascular accidents, elective back and neck surgeries, and cerebral angiograms. The RN will deliver high-quality patient care on a 22-bed neuro unit, accounting for an active, resilient, and adaptable professional capable of managing complex patient assessments and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Position: Neuro Med Surg Telemetry RN
- Location: 3333 W Deyoung St, Marion, Illinois, United States
- Start Date: 08/24/2026
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift Requirement: 12 hours night shifts
- Float Requirement: Float to medical unit may be required
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Required Qualifications: Must hold an active Illinois RN license; current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIHSS certification; two years of strong Medical Surgical and Telemetry experience, including recent experience in a travel assignment; neuro experience required; recent EPIC charting experience
- Patient Population: Neuro and neuro-surgical patients, including cerebrovascular accidents, elective back and neck surgeries, and cerebral angiograms
- General Skillset: Comfortable managing overflow medical patients, performing NIHSS/dysphagia screens, neuro assessments, tele interpretation, strict I & Os, straight catheterizations, Foleys, initiating/titrating heparin gtts, blood/blood product administration, venipuncture, blood cultures, NG tubes, drain management, and administering stable medications (e.g., Protonix, Lasic)
- Additional Information: The unit features 22 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. Candidates should be hard-working, resilient, adaptable, and capable of managing change effectively. Scrub colors are Navy Blue. The unit does not require COVID-19 vaccination at this time.
- Interview Days: Monday through Friday, with Manager Phone and MSP interviews available
