Description

Job Summary
A Sterile Processing Technician position is available in Rochester, Minnesota. The role involves supporting the operating room team by preparing, sterilizing, and managing surgical instruments and supplies. The technician will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the proper processing of medical instruments and maintaining inventory to support surgical procedures efficiently.

Job Details

  • Location: Rochester, MN
  • Schedule: Evenings, 3:00 PM 11:30 PM, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, overtime as needed, no weekends, no call
  • Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED; Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certification as a Central Processing Technician (CRCST) within 18 months of hire; must be 18 years of age prior to start date; minimum 1 year of experience handling or sterilizing surgical/medical/dental instrumentation within the past four years or equivalent vocational certification; CPBSD or CRCST certification required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Vocational certificate as Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant within the last two years; at least two years of experience as a Central Service Technician or Patient Care Assistant in an acute care setting within the last five years; knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Additional Information: The role requires operating sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, washer disinfectors, and ultrasonic cleaners. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability, effective communication skills, and the ability to handle physical tasks involving lifting and carrying.
