Description

Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse position located in Portland, Maine. This role involves providing patient care within the medical surgical and intensive care units, with a focus on telemetry monitoring. The position offers a dynamic working environment where teamwork, flexibility, and patient-centered care are essential.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, 1-2 years of experience in medical surgical and telemetry nursing, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, and relevant education modules.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilators, tracheostomy care, and telemetry strip interpretation.
  • Floats: IMC Registered Nurses may float within IMC units, while Medical Surgical RNs may float to similar level units based on skill and unit needs.
  • Unit Information:
    • Number of beds: 43
    • Patient ratios:
      • Day Shift Med/Surg: 1:4-5
      • Night Shift Med/Surg: 1:5-6
      • IMC (Intensive Care): 3:1
    • Equipment includes ventilators, BiPaP, CPAP, epidural and IV pumps, specialty beds, PCA pumps, VAC dressings, and trach care/maintenance.
  • EMR: Epic
  • Additional Information:
    • Experience with ventilators and tracheostomies required.
    • Patients with respiratory, medical telemetry, surgical, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, respiratory failure, and other acute chronic conditions are typical.
    • Dress code: scrubs; unprofessional attire and logos other than hospital-related are unacceptable.
    • Position is a replacement of permanent staff, open from 07/05/2026.
