Job Summary:
Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in open heart procedures is sought in Iowa City. This role involves working in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma environment, with a focus on cardiothoracic, peripheral vascular, and transplant (heart and lung) surgeries. The position requires scrub skills for cardiac cases and participation in team rotation for on-call duties.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Evenings shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; minimum of 2 years of strong cardiovascular operating room RN experience; proven scrubbing skills for cardiac surgeries; experience working in large Level 1 or 2 trauma centers; must include an operating room RN scrub skills checklist in the application packet.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiothoracic, peripheral vascular, and transplant surgeries; familiarity with heart surgery scrubbing procedures.
• Additional Information: The role requires participation in a team rotation for on-call duties once a week and one 24-hour call shift in a four-week period, including a weekend. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in scrubbing cardiac cases, particularly those involving heart transplants and complex cardiac procedures.
