Description

Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position is located in Omaha, Nebraska. This role involves caring for adult and pediatric patients over 15 years old with critical illnesses, including trauma injuries, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, and cardiac conditions. The position requires working night shifts in a fast-paced, level 1 trauma center, providing advanced critical care to critically ill patients.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications; at least 2 years of ICU experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilators (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.), telemetry monitoring, and titrating drips such as vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.
  • Duties: Managing critically ill adult and pediatric patients, interpreting telemetry strips, troubleshooting respiratory equipment, titrating drips, and providing advanced nursing interventions.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit is fast-paced with critically ill patients requiring critical thinking skills, a personable demeanor, positive attitude, and team collaboration.
    • Self-scheduling available; management oversees scheduling based on unit needs.
    • Float: All over to inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU.
    • RTO (Request For Time Off) approved upfront; no additional RTO after submission.
    • Candidate must have a valid drivers license, and preferences include Navy Blue scrubs.
    • NO facility, hospital, or organization names are included; all references are generic to comply with guidelines.
