Description
Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse position located in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This role involves providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care across various surgical specialties within a Level III Trauma facility. The OR nurse is responsible for coordinating patient care throughout intraoperative procedures, ensuring patient safety, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting surgical workflow in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, start date 08/03/2026.
- Required Qualifications: 2+ years of OR nursing experience, BLS certification required, ACLS preferred, valid nursing license in the state of New Mexico.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in General Surgery, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry.
- Additional Information: The circulating nurse in the OR is responsible for patient safety, documentation, workflow coordination, and sterile field support during surgical procedures. Call requirements are split among OR nurses, with an average of 7 calls in a 6-week period. Weekday call starts at 3pm to 7am; weekend call involves 12-hour shifts from 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am. Candidates must have fingerprints on file with the state of New Mexico, as the fingerprint process can take several weeks. Scrubs are hospital laundered and available. EMR systems used include Medhost and PICIS. No floating is required.
