Description
Job Summary:
The operating room technician is a vital member of the surgical team in the healthcare facility located in Golden, Colorado. This role involves supporting the surgical process by maintaining sterile fields, assisting during procedures, and ensuring environmental safety. Under supervision, the technician will contribute to surgical operations' safety and efficiency.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights: 4-10 hour shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 8:30 pm to 7:00 am; no call or weekend shifts required.
- Required Qualifications: - Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam) or two years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last three years. - High school diploma or GED; graduation from formal, accredited surgical technologist program is required. - Valid license or certification including Active Colorado License (DORA) and NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist. - BLS certification from the American Heart Association. - At least 2 years of surgical technician experience and 1 year of cardiothoracic (CVOR) scrubbing experience, including cardiac procedures, is required, with a minimum of 1 year of cardiovascular experience as a surgical tech.
- Preferred Qualifications: - One year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital setting is preferred.
- Additional Information: - Demonstrates ability to maintain a sterile field, ensure environmental safety, recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes, respond to emergency situations, and support surgical staff during procedures. - Knowledgeable in sterile processing, sterilization requirements, and supervision within surgical services. - Regular on-site attendance during scheduled nights is essential.
