Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization Nurse (RN) position in Peoria, Illinois. The role involves providing specialized nursing care within a dedicated Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. The successful candidate will support patients undergoing cardiac procedures, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and assisting cardiology teams during emergent and scheduled cases.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Illinois active or pending licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, and at least 2 years of clinical experience in cardiac catheterization or related specialty.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with reading strips and titrating drips in a cath lab setting.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Department: Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) with 6 labs and 4-20 cases per day on average.
  • Patients commonly include STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, congenital defects, TAVR, MITRACLIP, and peripheral procedures.
  • EMR systems utilized include EPIC, with GE, Philips monitors, and McKesson.
  • Cardiologists are on call 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • On each shift, a charge nurse acts as a resource to coordinate care.
  • Call requirements include 6-8 weeknight shifts per month, full weekend shifts every 6-7 weeks, and holiday coverage.
  • A unit-specific orientation of 2-3 shifts is provided.
