Job Summary:
This medical surgical floor nurse position is located at a healthcare facility in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The role involves providing patient care in a busy acute care setting with a focus on post-surgical, ortho, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end-of-life, and chemotherapy patients. The position requires flexibility to care for both 'clean' and 'dirty' COVID-19 classified patients and includes night shift assignments.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekend shifts as scheduled, and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Licensed registered nurse with a valid nursing license willing to wait for license submission. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: BLS certification.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other MedSurg units.
• Additional Information:
  • Nurse to patient ratio approximately 1:6-7.
  • Regular use of heparin, MSO4 for comfort measures, and respiratory support via Bipap, Cpap, or high flow managed by respiratory therapists.
  • Remote tele-monitoring available for some patients; no bedside monitors on the unit.
  • Self-scheduling and blocked scheduling permitted.
  • Orientation includes one shift with a preceptor.
  • Unit comprises private beds in two areas: 1W MedSurg (28 beds) and 2E MedSurg (29 beds), housing mainly postoperative, ortho, and other acute patients.
  • COVID patients are housed in designated 'dirty' hallways; the RN must be comfortable with this dual-categorized environment.
  • Must adhere to specific scrubs protocol, with navy blue jackets if worn.
