Job Summary:
The Emergency Room nurse position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing urgent and comprehensive emergency care within a Level IV Trauma Center and Acute Stroke Ready Center. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment handling adult and pediatric emergency cases, ensuring rapid stabilization and treatment of critically ill patients.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Two years of recent emergency department experience with adult and pediatric populations, Wisconsin RN license or Compact RN license, BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC certifications.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charge responsibilities, trauma level I or II experience, community hospital experience, and travel experience.
• Additional Information: Travelers must pass strict telemtry interpretation tests, with adult and pediatric exams requiring 80% or higher scores, and have up to two attempts for passing. The department serves approximately 45,000 patients annually, with facilities designed for surge capacity and rapid response capabilities, including 20 exam rooms and vertical care spaces. The team collaborates closely with ambulance services, and nurses serve as part of the hospitals rapid response team, providing emergent assessment and intervention across the facility.

• Travel & Floating: Travelers are required to float as needed; local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted. Minimum two years of recent acute care experience are required.
