Description

Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in ALAMOGORDO, New Mexico. This role involves providing skilled perioperative nursing care to a variety of surgical patients, including orthopedic, general, podiatry, gynecology/obstetrics (including cesarean sections), pain management, urology, and endoscopy cases. The nurse will demonstrate proficiency and independence in assessing patients, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, while adhering to hospital policies and promoting patient safety.

Job Details:

Position: Operating Room Nurse (OR)
Location: ALAMOGORDO, New Mexico
Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (total of 12 hours shift available on specified days)
Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA only); RN License in the state of New Mexico; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (AHA only); PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (AHA only); CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Additional language skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; basic computer knowledge.
Additional Information: The role involves caring for different types of surgical patients, including orthopedic, general, podiatry, GYN/OB (including cesarean sections), pain management, urology, and endoscopy. The candidate will be expected to maintain clinical competency, follow hospital policies, support the mission and philosophy of the organization, and participate in quality improvement and legal compliance activities. The position requires effective communication, cultural sensitivity, and accountability for actions.
