Job Summary:
The healthcare provider is seeking a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a facility located in Scranton, Pennsylvania. This role involves providing direct nursing care to medical and surgical patients, including those undergoing short stay procedures, orthopedic surgeries, and stroke care. The position requires flexibility to float to other units as needed, ensuring comprehensive patient care across the general medical and surgical services.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) coverage.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, 1+ years of Med Surg experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
• Float: Float rotation may be required, as needed.
• Additional Information: The RN will perform responsibilities including EKG monitoring, intravenous (IV) insertion, medication administration, Foley catheter insertion, vital signs assessment, patient evaluations, assisting with rapid sequence intubation (RSI), and conducting point-of-care testing such as blood glucose. The unit has 30 beds with a patient-to- nurse ratio of 1:6. Scrub colors are navy blue and white. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is Cerner. No call is required.
