Job Summary:
Endoscopy Lab Nurse - Herrin, Illinois. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in the endoscopy laboratory setting, including assisting with procedures such as colonoscopies, esophagogastroduodenoscopies (EGDs), ERCPs, PEG tube placements, bronchoscopies, esophageal stent placements, and pain procedures. The role requires proficiency in moderate sedation, EPIC charting, and managing patient admissions and discharges within the perioperative area. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a daily shift from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, including on-call responsibilities.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Dayshift, 10 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Illinois Registered Nurse license, current CPR/BLS certification, and experience in endoscopy procedures such as colon, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube, bronch, esophageal stent, and pain procedures. Able to perform moderate sedation, EPIC charting, and manage patient admissions/discharges in the perioperative setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a fast-paced endoscopy laboratory environment and proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other facilities within the organization when needed.
• Additional Information: The position involves assessing patients mental, physical, and spiritual needs, developing and implementing care plans, providing patient education, and maintaining complete and accurate medical records. The role emphasizes professional clinical judgment and effective communication skills to foster a healthy workplace environment.
