Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a GI/Endoscopy position in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of endoscopy experience and proficiency in a range of advanced GI procedures.

Details

• Hospital-based endoscopy unit setting
• Procedures performed include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube placement, bronchoscopy, esophageal stenting, and pain procedures
• Moderate sedation administration required
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Ability to admit and discharge patients in the perioperative area required
• 10-hour day shifts, 6:30am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday
• On-call required, up to 2 weeknights and 2 weekend days per week with a 45-minute callback requirement
• Floating to other facilities within the organization may be required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of endoscopy nursing experience required
• Proficiency in colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube, bronchoscopy, esophageal stenting, and pain procedures required
• Experience with moderate sedation required
• Epic EMR experience required

• Assess patients to determine clinical needs and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Provide patient and family education, including explanations and discharge instructions
• Recognize and report changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records
• Participate in continuing education as required
