Description

Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Espanola, New Mexico. This role involves providing comprehensive obstetric care, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum services. The position requires assessing and monitoring patients, stabilizing critically ill newborns, administering medications, and preparing expectant mothers for delivery across various clinical settings within the unit.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts with 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License; BLS; NRP; AWHONN Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certifications; BLS must be completed through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross; traveler must pass the BCA testing during first week of assignment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: This position involves floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles, requiring flexibility across clinical areas and adherence to facility fixed notes. Responsibilities include labor assessment, fetal evaluation, stabilization of patients and newborns, medication administration, and assistance with procedures such as circumcisions and stabilization of critically ill newborns. Skills required encompass labor assessment, fetal evaluation, stabilization procedures, medication administration, and obstetric triage acuity tools.
