Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) with specialization in Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) is sought for a 13-week assignment in a healthcare organizations critical care unit. The RN will be responsible for coordinating and providing direct patient care, patient and family education, and overseeing transitions of care. This role involves working within the nursing professional practice model, demonstrating leadership, and supporting quality improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with clinical standards.

Job Details:

  • Location: Rochester, Minnesota
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts totaling 12 hours, with minimum of 36 hours per week, including day/night rotations (0700-1930 and 1900-0730) and straight nights (1900-0730). Every third weekend rotation is required. Floating to other units may be necessary.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience, 6 months of travel experience (1 year preferred). Experience with cardiac monitoring/telemetry and reading strips is required. ECG exam must be passed during orientation.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD), Impella, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), and balloon pumps. Specialty certifications such as ACLS and CCRN are preferred.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must have experience monitoring cardiac rhythms and be comfortable with extracorporeal support devices. Orientation includes ECG exam; passing is mandatory to continue assignment. The candidate should possess excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills, supporting a collaborative patient care environment.
