Job Summary
Palo Alto, California The Surgical Technician (Operating Room Technician) will act as a key member of the surgical team in supporting patient care during surgical procedures. Responsibilities include preparing instrumentation and materials for surgery, passing instruments to the surgeon, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting with room turnover. The role requires active engagement in all phases of surgical support to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating shift; 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Completion of a formal, structured program for Surgical Technology; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred; California-based license or certification as applicable.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience supporting surgical teams in a hospital setting.
• Additional Information: The Surgical Technologist acts as a member of the surgical team in providing patient care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Prepare the appropriate instrumentation and materials for use on the surgical field, passing instruments to the surgeon during the procedure and room turnover. Perform surgical scrub duties as directed under supervision. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment in a timely manner. Communicates effectively with all members of the surgical team and ensures adherence to sterile techniques and safety procedures.
