Description

Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization (Cardiac Cath Lab) Nurse position in the Rockford, Illinois area. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a busy cardiac catheterization laboratory, supporting a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures. The position requires expertise in managing patients undergoing complex cardiovascular procedures and working within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.

Job Details:

  • Location: Rockford, Illinois
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, with 9-hour shifts, including rotating weekday and weekend call coverage.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience; experience with STEMI patients; proficiency with electronic medical records using Epic and Change Healthcare systems; ability to obtain a license to submit and willingness to wait for licensure.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) and Neuro IR procedures.
  • Additional Information: The unit conducts approximately 5 coronary procedures, 1 neuro procedure, 3 electrophysiology (EP) procedures, and 16 interventional radiology cases daily. The nursing team includes Cath Lab Technicians who scrub and monitor cases. Orientation is individualized and typically includes one to two days in each procedural area. Scrubs are provided, and a hospital dress code is in effect. Floating within the cath lab department may be required, covering areas such as Coronary, Neuro IR, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, and Prep & Recovery.

  • Shift Hours: 9 hours per shift with minimum of 36 hours per week.
