Description

Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) RN position in Rockford, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-volume cath lab environment, working with patients undergoing procedures such as PCI, coronary angiography, electrophysiology studies, and device implants. The position requires collaborative teamwork within a dynamic cardiology department and adherence to procedural protocols.

Job Details:

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM with one rotating day off each week and rotating weekday/weekend call coverage. Call hours include any hours outside of M-F 07:00-16:30, including 24-hour call shifts on Saturday and Sunday.
Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license; minimum of 2 years of recent Cath Lab RN experience; STEMI experience required; IR and Neuro IR experience preferred; Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; EMR/Equipment: Epic, Change Healthcare (formerly McKesson), Lifepak 20; Must be willing to wait for license submission.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Neuro IR procedures.
Float: Float rotation may be required within the cath lab department only (Coronary, Neuro IR, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, and Prep & Recovery).
Additional Information: Orientation is individualized based on prior experience and typically includes 1-2 days in each procedural area. The unit notes that local clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles may be eligible for an applicable local rate. The department is a high-acuity acute care setting focused on cardiovascular interventions and recovery. Proper attire includes hospital-provided surgical scrubs, and the team includes Cath Lab Techs for scrubbing and monitoring cases. This role involves rotating day off, call responsibilities, and participation during holidays if scheduled.
