Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse position in Danville, Illinois. This role involves supporting surgical procedures in a busy unit with a focus on general surgery and orthopedics. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, assist with a variety of surgical cases, and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure smooth operations.

Job Details:

• Schedule: M-F, 0645-1515 with call requirements, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS Certification; Illinois license or confirmation that an application has been initiated; 1 year of OR experience; active IL license or confirmation that application has been initiated, and the candidate understands the drug-free policy and can produce a negative drug screen for all panels
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with general surgery and orthopedic procedures; scrub experience; familiarity with EPIC electronic charting system
• Float: Not mandatory at this time
• Additional Information:
  • Number of ORs: 5, with staffing limitations allowing 3 rooms to operate at a time
  • Typical case load: 12-15 cases per day, including GI scopes, cataracts, general surgery, gynecology, pain management, cardiology, and orthopedic cases
  • Charge Nurse: Assigned during M-F 0600-1430 shifts, with in-house House Supervisor available 24/7 and the charge nurse able to take assignments
  • OR Technicians: Work alongside surgical technologists, with 5 full-time and 1 PRN techs
  • Weeknight and weekend call required, with a response time of 60 minutes
  • Wear hospital-provided scrubs and follow unit-specific orientation up to one week if needed
  • No vascular, CV, or neuro experience required or indicated
