Job Summary:
Psychiatric Unit Nurse in Hilo, Hawaii. This position involves coordinating nursing care for patients with behavioral health issues, participating in patient and family teaching, and administering medications and treatments. The role requires verifying Hawaii state licensing prior to start, with a focus on providing quality psychiatric care in a facility with 12 beds. The assignment offers rotating day shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Hawaii nursing license by start date, 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, crisis prevention training such as NCI or other recognized programs
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in psychiatric settings with a team model approach, proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and Meditech software
• Additional Information: Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend employee health appointment on Friday. There is no floating to other departments. The unit has 12 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of a team model. Dress code requires clean and professional attire. Orientation will be provided with a designated mentor.
