Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery registered nurse position located in Dallas, TX, primarily working night shifts on the 9th floor of a womens hospital. This role involves high-risk obstetrical care, including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum recovery, with staffing ratios of approximately 80% in accordance with AWHONN standards. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a high-acuity unit with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: RN license, at least 2 years of experience in high-risk labor and delivery, neonatal resuscitation certification, and intermediate AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk obstetrical bedside training, circulating in cesarean sections, and recovering high-acuity patients.
- Unit Type: High-risk obstetrical unit specializing in labor and delivery; staffing includes beds, triage, and postpartum recovery.
- Patient Ratios: 2:1 and 3:1 in triage, 1:1 in unstable labor or high-acuity cases, 2:1 in early labor.
- Unit Equipment and Documentation: GE fetal monitors; Meditech and CPNS electronic documentation systems.
- Procedures: Vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, postpartum recovery.
- Additional Requirements: Neat and healthy appearance, no artificial nails, clean and well-maintained hair, covered tattoos, and no visible piercings other than earrings. Floating to antepartum may be required. Attendance policies as per organizational standards.
