Description

Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role involves providing specialized care to critically ill newborns in a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, with a focus on high acuity, fast-paced environments. It offers an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to neonatal patient care.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
  • Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Start Date: 08/03/2026
  • Required Qualifications: RN licensure with BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications. Candidates must have at least 2 years of strong Level 3 and/or Level 4 NICU experience and be comfortable in a high acuity, fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic health record system, EVDs, Camino device (ICP and temperature monitoring), management of critical care vasoactive drip titration, invasive lines including ART lines/CVP, ventilator and trach management, and bedside procedures with providers.
  • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Respiratory distress syndromes, congenital heart defects, neurological conditions, necrotizing enterocolitis, sepsis, NAS, TORCH infections, and more.
  • Patient Ratios: Varies based on acuity, typically 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Units, Pediatric Intensive Care Units, or general Pediatric units as needed, unless prior experience indicates otherwise.
  • Other Responsibilities: Include unit orientation, adherence to hospital dress code, and participation in holiday and weekend schedules with manager approval for RTO needs.
