Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse position available in Centennial, Colorado. This opportunity involves working night shifts in a high-volume emergency care setting with a focus on acute patient treatment and stabilization. The role requires flexibility to float within a designated region and adherence to rigorous clinical standards.
Job Details:
- Location: Centennial, Colorado
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift
- Schedule: Shifts are scheduled 4 to 6 weeks in advance, with options for single facility assignments or Just-In-Time (JIT) scheduling, assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via clinical unit.
- Qualifications: Ohio certified with a minimum of 2 years of emergency room experience. Certifications required include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Preferred Skills: Experience with common drips and standard emergency room medications.
- Responsibilities: Support ED operations, assist with triage, work alongside charge nurse, and perform various patient care duties including interpreting tele monitors and supporting point of care testing.
- Float Requirements: Staff are expected to float within Region 1, which covers multiple EDs. Clinicians must obtain housing within the zone to facilitate this requirement.
- Additional Information: Orientation is 2-3 days and must be completed before the start date. The charge nurse may take assignments, and team members support unit secretary tasks and floor assistance. The ER generally treats 40-168 patients per day, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 depending on acuity. All necessary certifications and licenses must be submitted as part of the application process.
