Description
Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Nurse position available in Durango, Colorado. This role involves night shifts within a fast-paced acute care environment, providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients across various specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, and more. The position requires flexibility to float across multiple acuity levels and units, ensuring comprehensive patient management.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. All shifts and scheduling are coordinated by leadership for a 6-week schedule, and flexibility is expected to assist with filling operational gaps.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA). Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Step Down Unit or similar specialty. Valid license to practice in the state of Colorado. No specific education degree is mandated for this role.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior neuro experience and Epic electronic health record experience are advantageous.
- Float: Float rotation may be required, with the ability to float into other acuity levels such as Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Medical-Surgical Telemetry (MS-Tele).
- Additional Information: Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC.
- Shift Notes: Night shifts with the potential for 6-9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule. May be asked to work during holiday rotation and rare call or standby duties.
