Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse Fort Morgan, Colorado. This night shift position involves providing high-quality patient care in a Level 3 Trauma Center emergency department. The role requires a dedicated healthcare professional capable of managing an average of 25 patients per day, with responsibilities including assessing and treating a variety of urgent medical conditions. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a busy, supportive environment focused on patient-centered care.
Job Details:
- Location: Fort Morgan, Colorado
- Position: Emergency Room Nurse
- Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift
- Schedule: 36 minimum hours per week, every other weekend, every other holiday, with leadership-led scheduling based on unit needs
- Required Qualifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS, TNCC certifications; Colorado nursing license; minimum of 2 years of ER experience; valid driver's license; willingness to wait for license submission
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC charting system; proficiency in reading and interpreting telemonitors; ability to perform Point of Care labs and draw labs
- Additional Information:
- Candidate interview process involves a session with the clinical team, with no unit manager involvement.
- Candidates must be in the state during the week of orientation, even if some modules are remote.
- Floating within the region's emergency departments may be required.
- ER capabilities include separate holding areas, mixed ER holds, and support for common diagnoses such as abdominal pain, diabetic ketoacidosis, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension.
- The unit maintains a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity, with charge nurses taking assignments.
- RT services, including ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs, are available 24/7.
