Description

Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Neurological (ICU Neuro) Nurse position available in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves providing specialized neurological intensive care on a busy ICU unit, with a focus on managing patients with complex neuro conditions, including post-op neuro procedures, head and neck flap care, and ventilated patients. The position offers a dynamic environment emphasizing teamwork, advanced technology, and ongoing professional development.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week; scheduled to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital staff.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale certifications; at least 36 months of RN experience, including one year in an ICU setting; experience with meditech documentation system; proficiency in reading telemetry strips; ability to care for up to 1-3 ICU patients, including ventilated patients; preferred previous travel nursing experience in a similar environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: BSN degree; advanced certifications such as TNCC; experience with CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, EVD management, induced hypothermia; neuro and cardiovascular ICU procedural experience.
  • Additional Information: Travelers are expected to float to emergency departments or other patient care units as needed. Bedside shift report is required for patient handoffs. The unit utilizes mobile phones and computer workstations on wheels. The hospital offers a supportive team environment with opportunities for training in neuro and cardiovascular ICU specialties, including specialized procedures like head and neck flap care.
