Description

Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse in Louisville, KY. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within the cardiac catheterization lab, supporting procedures such as PCI, heart catheterizations, and port placements. The position offers flexible shift options, with either 10- or 12-hour days, and requires collaboration with a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Dayshift, 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting 08/03/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS certifications; 2 years of experience in a Cath Lab; Kentucky nursing license or equivalent; proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record system and McKesson hemodynamic support; experience supporting cardiac and vascular procedures; ability to scrub and assist with Cath Lab procedures.
  • Support within the Department: Manager, 2 cardiologists, 1 vascular specialist, 4 techs, 4 nurses plus charge nurse.
  • Technology/Equipment: Cerner EMR (preferred), Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, McKesson hemodynamic system (preferred), Philips and GE Cath Lab equipment.
  • Orientation: New hire will complete 2-3 days of facility and unit orientation.
  • Floating: No floating required.
  • Other notes: Scrub color provided; parking is free.
  • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Cardiac, Pulmonary, Vascular; no high acuity cases; support includes PCI, heart caths, tunnel catheters, port placements.
  • Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation; 6-week on-call schedule with approximately 16-18 call shifts from 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM; potential for working 10- or 12-hour shifts; approval for time off (RTO) required from nurse manager.
