Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry at a facility located in Concord, North Carolina, is responsible for providing high-quality patient care during night shifts. Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, every other weekend rotation, no on-call requirements, working 75% of holidays, scheduled in 6-week cycles.
- Required Qualifications: 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience, valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
- Float: Float rotation may be required; travel nurses will be first to float to other nursing units within regional facilities as needed and demonstrate clinical flexibility.

- Minimum years of experience: 18 months in Medical Surgical or Telemetry nursing
- Patient types include small bowel obstructions, general surgeries (e.g., colectomy, colon/small bowel resections, nephrectomy, hysterectomy, mastectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, splenectomy, thyroidectomy), kidney stones, pneumothorax, bariatric surgery, rib fractures, hip fractures, joint replacements, cellulitis
- Patient ratios: RN: 1:4-6; surge times could be 1:7-8
- Support staff: CNA, RT, hospitalist, intensivist, telemetry monitoring (remote capabilities), phlebotomy, and resource nurse support as staffing allows
- Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record, BD Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Masimo monitors, remote telemetry
- Duties include wound care, chest tube management, PIV starts, NG tubes, ostomy care, drains, continuous bladder irrigation, tube feeds, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and support with Peripheral Blood Draws and IV therapy.
