Job Summary:
This Medical Surgical Floor Registered Nurse position is based in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The role involves providing high-quality patient care on a busy 36-bed unit specializing in post-surgical, orthopedic, and general Medical Surgical patients. The shift is scheduled for 12-hour days, with opportunities for self-scheduling and blocked schedules, ensuring a flexible work environment.

Job Details:

• Location: Uniontown, PA
• Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), weekends as scheduled, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Certifications: BLS Certification required
• Education and Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant RN experience; willingness to wait for license submission; license to submit required
• Unit Notes:
  • 50-mile radius rule for submissions
  • All candidates must include a copy of an unexpired drivers license
  • Medical Surgical unit with 28 all-private beds on 1W and 29 on 2E, including a shared area of 2N and 2S
  • Ratios: 1 RN to 6-7 patients; charge nurse/house supervisor and clinical manager overseeing operations 6 days a week
  • Nurses may manage remote telehealth patients monitored by tech on third floor (no monitors on the unit)
  • Patients are housed as 'clean' or 'dirty' (COVID) with the possibility of being assigned to both types simultaneously; must be comfortable with this
  • Typical patient diagnoses include post-surgical, orthopedic, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, chemotherapy, and COVID units with designated 'clean' and 'dirty' hallways
  • No Drip medications like Heparin or MSO4 for comfort; ventilator management includes Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow (managed by RTs)
• Additional Notes:
  • Self-scheduling and blocked schedules permitted as long as unit needs are met
  • Float to other Medical Surgical units possible with floor-specific orientation
  • No trauma level designation; acute care setting
