Description
Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery registered nurse position is located in Orange, California. This role involves providing high-quality obstetric care in a busy, high-risk unit. Ideal candidates will bring extensive experience in Labor and Delivery nursing, with the ability to circulate and manage complex obstetric cases in a large hospital setting.
Job Details:
- Shift: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid California license, minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate certifications required; AWHONN Advanced preferred. Must be able to circulate for vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, with experience in high-risk obstetric situations.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk deliveries, preterm labor, hypertension, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, fetal anomalies, and multiple gestations. Strong charting skills in Epic or similar electronic medical record systems are preferred.
- Scheduling: Nights, 3 shifts per week, with potential for weekend coverage and scheduled days off. Orientation includes 72 hours of facility-specific training prior to start.
- Additional Information: The unit cares for neonates and adults with pregnancy-related diagnoses, including preterm labor, hypertension, and fetal anomalies. It is a very high-risk unit that requires seasoned clinicians with experience in large hospital obstetric settings. Travelers are expected to float between facilities within the same state, and all must be prepared to work holidays when scheduled.
