Description

Job Summary:
The healthcare facility is seeking a Certified Operating Room Technician for a position in Bismarck, North Dakota. The role involves supporting diverse surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including orthopedic, general, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, and plastics. The technician will work in a busy surgical environment, providing essential technical assistance during surgeries while adhering to facility protocols.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 8-hour shifts from Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 am and ending at 3:30 pm, with mandatory call responsibilities once weekly and one weekend call shift every four weeks.
  • Required Qualifications: Certified Operating Room Technician (including certification as RNFA, CSTFA, or CFA) with BLS (AHA) certification; minimum of 0 years of experience; suitable for candidates with no prior experience or recent grads.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with orthopedic surgical procedures such as knee and hip arthroplasties, shoulder and knee arthroscopies, open reduction internal fixation of bones, hip nailing procedures, ACL repairs, carpal tunnel releases, and tendon repairs. Ability to perform general surgery procedures in addition to specialty skills.
  • Additional Information: The role requires familiarity with computerized charting systems such as EPIC. Candidates must be willing to wait for license submission approval, and credentialing by the client may take up to 90 days. The unit handles approximately 40 to 60 procedures daily, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties including cardiovascular, neuro, general, plastic, OB/GYN, robotic, ENT, and urology. Orientation involves a one-week preceptor-led program. The facility has 12 operating rooms at the main hospital and 6 at the outpatient surgery center across the street, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1. Dress code is scrubs, which will be provided.
