Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart specialty position located in West Virginia. This role involves supporting complex surgical procedures within a busy acute care environment. The position requires adapting to a rotating shift schedule with on-call duties, providing crucial perioperative care for cardiovascular and other high-acuity cases.

Job Details:

• Shift: Rotating; 10-hour days with rotating call.
• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, with on-call responsibilities ranging from evenings to overnight, typically starting at 1915 and ending the following morning.
• Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association) certification; minimum of 2 years of experience in operating room nursing or surgical settings.
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS and PALS certifications preferred; strong perioperative background in cardiovascular surgery preferred.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to related units such as endoscopy or vascular, based on experience and comfort level.
• Additional Information:
  • Unit supports approximately 60-70 cases per day, including general, OB-GYN, neuro, vascular, orthopedic, plastics, ENT, and robotic surgeries.
  • Scrubbing experience required; RN and CST experience preferred.
  • EMR system utilized is EPIC.
  • Orientation involves two shifts in the OR, with additional training if needed.
  • The team includes one charge nurse and OR technicians.
  • Call response time is 30 minutes, with weekend and holiday rotations.
