Description

Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in a high-acuity, fast-paced cardiac center of excellence. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients with a variety of cardiovascular conditions on a 36-hour weekly schedule in a progressive/intermediate care setting. The position offers an opportunity to work with advanced equipment and a highly experienced team dedicated to patient recovery and safety.

Job Details:

  • Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, minimum 1-year current acute care PCU hospital experience, BLS & ACLS certifications, located within the United States, no prior experience required in specialty.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chest tube management, pacer wire removal, 12-lead EKG, oxygen management including BIPAP & heated high-flow, and proficiency with drips such as heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine.
  • Typical Procedures: Post-cath care, left and right heart caths, TAVRs, ablations, watchmans, pacemaker implantations, thoracic surgeries including VATs/RATs, resections, lobectomies, and open-heart surgical post-care, vascular surgery post-op care.
  • Skill Set: Candidates with experience in cardiac procedures and critical care are highly preferred.
  • Unit Information: A 30-bed unit with a staff comprising both Registered Nurses and Patient Care Technicians, utilizing equipment such as tele monitors, suction, feeding pumps, ventilators, and telemetry systems.
  • Additional Information: The unit values communication and collaboration, is highly dynamic and challenging, and is dedicated to providing exemplary cardiovascular patient care.
