Labor and Delivery Department nurse in San Francisco, California. The position involves providing direct patient care to neonates and mothers, with responsibilities including assessment, planning, implementation, and continual reassessment. The role requires serving as a patient advocate while promoting safety and clinical quality throughout daily practice.
Job Details
- Schedule: Evening shifts with 8 hours per shift, totaling 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, and at least 0 years of experience in labor and delivery.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience and experience with patient ratios of 4 for nights and days, and 4 for weekends.
- Float: Baby nurse in Labor and Delivery may be required to float to related units as needed.
- Additional Information: Responsible for assisting with labor, delivery, postpartum care, and neonatal assessments. May be required to assist with procedures such as cesarean sections, postpartum recovery, fetal monitoring, and newborn care. The position supports a daily census of approximately 21 patients and requires adherence to all safety protocols, including PPE and infection control practices.
